An electrifying experience

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

Here’s the thing, electricity in China is often sold on cards, like a gift card or a pay-as-you-go Visa. When the power runs out you have to insert the card into the electrical box to get more hours. In my case, the electrical box is high on the wall outside my 6th floor apartment.

Usually the electricity runs out in the middle of the night. The air conditioning stops, and you wake up in a sweat groping for a flashlight. Then you drag a chair outside, stand on it, and insert the card.

But today the power quit in the daytime, so the recharge shouldn’t be too difficult. Just climb up and get it done. I hope nobody opens that door while I’m up here.

Heeeey!!
