Moloch Rising

All children, born and unborn, are made in the holy image of God.

Whatever one's opinion of the current president might be, these words from the 2019 State of the Union address have the ring of truth. How unfortunate so many disregard and even mock them.

When I wrote the "Battle of the Babes" chapter of my novel Great Republic on Rye I hoped to inspire readers with an account of heroes risking all to defend imperiled infants and overthrow a vicious priesthood. I could never have imagined that soon afterwards state governors and legislatures would be promoting infanticide under the camouflage of "reproductive rights." The governor of Virginia went so far as to describe, in bland tones, the procedure for destroying late-term abortion survivors.

Truly, the ancient god of child sacrifice, Moloch, is rising again and roaring for innocent blood. Should this diabolical practice become normalized, then we cannot escape a divine judgement. A literal Moloch is of doubtful existence. As always, it's a matter of the void in people's hearts - the absence of God.
